We’re well into the second week of Friendship Fortnight and the fun continues. We are lucky to have a school full of parents from near and far who are willing to help out and share their skills and knowledge. Parents were invited to school on Monday to talk about where they come from. In junior infants we learned about New Zealand (we even did the hakka), Mauritis (where the now extinct dodo used to live) and Spain.
Wednesday brought the chance to do Buddy Art. The children in junior infants buddied up with the first class children to do some spring pictures. They enjoyed having a chat and getting to know their new friends while creating springtime masterpieces. It was lovely to hear the chatter and the enthusiasm the children had for getting to know each other.
There’s more friendship fun to come on Thursday and Friday.
