In 2001, Péigí bean úí Ruairc met with Marion Ryan and together, with Marie Maughan, they planned to have a concert, a platform on which to showcase the many talents of the children from St. Louis Infant School and St. Louis Senior Primary School.
This tradition continued for many years and we are delighted that it has re-started this year – except that now it has grown to three nights instead of the original one night!
Auditions took place in February, with an expert panel of Angela Dakin, Roisin Hearne, Isabel Ryan, Robert O’Connell and David Munro, who carefully chose a wonderful variety of talent to perform.
Thank you so much to the numerous people who gave so freely of their time – staff, parents, family and friends; your help is truly appreciated. We are also indebted to the ensemble directors, accompanists and supporters who contribute in so many ways to make these concerts successful and a positive experience for these young performers.
A special treat and mention must be made to the members of the RTÉ national Symphony Orchestra of Ireland for joining forces and playing alongside the Senior orchestra members ( imagine having two orchestras in St. Louis – not forgetting the Wind ensemble, the Horn Quartet, the recorder ensemble, the Senior and Infant Choirs……)Thank you for not only enriching and encouraging members playing close to you but also sharing your time and talents with us all in the St. Louis community.
Beir Bua agus go raibh míle maith agaibh go léir,
Dr. AnnNoelle Bennett
