Active Week: Day 2- Hurling
**Rain, rain, go way, We've got hurling to play!** Many thanks to the reps from Kevins Hurling and Camogie Club for teaching us hurling skills. It was a great day. Don't forget to do your Active homework. Early to bed tonight. We've a busy day planned for tomorrow.
Active Week: Day 1 – Athletics
Active week started with a sprint. We took part in lots of warm-up drills before doing a variety of relays. Once we cooled down, we enjoyed a nice drink of water. Agri Aware Incredible Edibles
Different classes from Junior Infants, Senior Infants and First Class are taking part in Agri Aware's Incredible Edibles vegetable growing scheme! Here are some pictures of Room 9 planting potatoes, turnips, carrots, lettuce, chives and strawberries!

Engineers in Junior Infants
Junior Infants worked in pairs to build bridges. They had to build a bridge that a vehicle could drive under and over. The bridge had to be wide and not too narrow. There were lots of things to consider. The children discovered that it was important to build a strong bridge.
Last week, all of the Senior Infants from Room 9 became engineers for the day! We worked in small groups to help solve a problem only an engineer could solve: how to build earthquake proof towers! We've had two days of toe-tapping, hand-clapping, spirit-lifting and soul-filling music. On Tuesday, the "Bachelor Brass Quintet" played for us and taught us about the trumpet, French horn, tuba and trombone.
